"The tail looks sharky". Very good!

This is a white sturgeon, (sturgeons share some characteristics of sharks) and you are right we are on fresh water. However we are the on the mighty Fraser River near Mission, British Columbia, Canada. A few years ago...someone caught one of these monsters on this river that was an unbelievable 12 foot 4 inches.

Luckily however unlike sharks, sturgeons don't bite, so they are harmless.

Due to Sturgeons slow growth rate (they live to be over 100) it's a catch and release fishery only, so moments after we snapped our shots, this guy was returned to the water unharmed to live another day.
